The UC Merced Travel Medicine Program offers UC Merced employees (including student-employees) traveling for international business the following services at no cost to the traveler, grant, or department:
Pre-travel consulation which includes:
Administration of all necessary vaccines *Based on availability*
Travel-related prescriptions
Post-travel consultation
Travel illness diagnosis and treatment
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends being up-to-date on all routine vaccines and making an appointment with a healthcare provider or a travel health specialist at least 4 weeks before your departure to provide destination-specific vaccines, medicines, and other healthcare recommendations. However, even getting a consultation 1-3 weeks before travel can be helpful.

Enrolling with the Department of State's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)
Preparing for emergencies
Preparing a travel health kit
